Involves some degree of compromise.


Perceiving love or at least approval as contingent on success.
Growing tendency on the part of one or both partners to perceive that their partner’s love and approval is linked to external success


External Pressures : The Effects Of Being in a Marginalized Relationship
Different ethnic group, the same gender and different in age.
Will reduce partner’s willingness to invest
Becoming more committed to their relationship.


The Consequences of a Failed Relationship
Actively-response consists of either ending the relationship as quickly as possible or working to improve it.

Passively-response involve simply waiting and hoping that thing will get better or waiting for thing to get worse.
